Keddrain “KD” Bowen is truly a serial entrepreneur, and knows entrepreneurship is our future. Since graduating from Tusculum University, where he earned a degree in sports management, Keddrain came up with not one, but two separate ideas in which he started two new businesses. He founded Fanatics 101 in 2003, which now has two locations. He has a location in The Mall at Johnson City as well as a location in the Asheville outlets. Keddrain also co- founded Appville 101 which he operated for five years.
Keddrain’s first business, Fanatics 101 was founded strictly on faith. His idea to start his own company came after many unsuccessful attempts to secure his first “real” job upon earning his degree. He started his business out of the trunk of his car with the $300 he received as graduation gifts.
Seeing that he could have a larger customer base in selling sports attire and memorabilia, Keddrain changed his focus off urban wear and updated his inventory to focus on sports attire.
Keddrain will be speaking on the Art of the Hustle. His book, The Dream is Free: The Journey to Success is Sold Separately,” states it best. “Everybody has a dream, but not everyone is willing to put in the work to make those dreams a reality. You must be motivated, dedicated, and on a quest to be your best.”
